Programme 21
The technique of physical examination changes with age, and on this film examples are given of the technique of routine physical examination of the newborn; the infant of 10 months; the 2.5 year old (examination of the ear, nose and throat); and the six-year old, where the examination technique approaches that used in the adult. These should provide valuable role models of good technique for students and trainees in paediatrics to follow.
