First, Sir Naren Patel explores the issues of early antenatal care by reference to a 37-year old woman requesting testing for Down's syndrome. The pros and cons of different tests are discussed, and Drs McCulloch and Owen carry out an amniocentesis under ultrasound control. The issues are discussed, and finally Dr Sandy Christie carries out a late anomaly scan.
