Summary: The Priorities Game gives players the opportunity to think about how care delivery and nursing tasks should be prioritised. The game simulates a typical hospital ward, with patients that require admission, discharge and general care. Players must work together to decide which tasks take priority and how to achieve them while still providing effective patient care. Players take on roles as members of ward staff. Before the shift ends, they must achieve a target number of admissions and discharges and also manage ongoing patient care. As the shift progresses, events occur, and tasks need to be completed – players must work together to make decisions, prioritise duties and use their role-specific skills and authority to complete patient care tasks. Supports education modules incorporating: Admission/discharge process, Decision making and prioritisation, Communication and teamwork, and Leadership.
