This article highlights that&nbsp;</span><span class="highlight" style="line-height: 17.999801635742188px;">pre-operative</span><span style="line-height: 17.999801635742188px;">&nbsp;</span><span class="highlight" style="line-height: 17.999801635742188px;">anaemia</span><span style="line-height: 17.999801635742188px;">&nbsp;is often not effectively managed in&nbsp;</span><span class="highlight" style="line-height: 17.999801635742188px;">patients</span><span style="line-height: 17.999801635742188px;">&nbsp;presenting for&nbsp;</span><span class="highlight" style="line-height: 17.999801635742188px;">elective</span><span style="line-height: 17.999801635742188px;">&nbsp;total hip replacement surgery, putting them at risk of unnecessary transfusion.
