520			_aWith an increasing number of older people within the population the National Service Framework sets out standards which aim to provide person-centred care, remove age discrimination, promote older people's health and independence and to 'fit the services around people's needs'. To achieve these older people will be helped to stay healthy. Eight standards are detailed with milestones (dates) for the designated steps being in place. A Medicine Management Booklet, to ensure appropriate and effective use of medication, is included in the text. To assist implementation the 'milestones' are listed in chronological order.
